Make Healthcare More Healthy

While our focus is on COVID 19 today, Hospital Acquired Infections(HAIs) have always been a constant challenge to the health, safety and financial wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors.
.
Viruses, Infectious Bacteria, mold and Fungi continue to be a worldwide threat to the health of humans. The infection control protocols identified below, struggle against these threats. The struggle is becoming more complicated despite all of the preventive precautions. The interconnectedness of the world is problematic as we try to avoid diseases and sickness.

It is unfortunate that too often, people enter hospitals only to become sicker than when they entered. Patients admitted to a hospital have a 5% chance of contracting an HAI. Studies suggest that this affects 1 in 25 people that are admitted. This results in an estimated 2 million cases and 75,000 deaths each year. Additionally, HAIs can extend a stay by an average of 17.6 days. Despite our efforts, the costs are staggering. It is estimated that HAI’s cost society well in excess of $10 billion dollars.

Visitors track in germs each day. Portable medical equipment is a significant source, and medical staff themselves contribute to this problem. Studies have found that over 25% of equipment was found to be culture-positive with clinically significant microorganisms. Nurses often bring the germs to work with them.

The most prevalent technologies currently used in hospitals are air filtration, electronic air filters/plasma, hydrogen peroxide misting systems (aqueous), chemical misting systems (aqueous), ozone (O3) systems, ionic technology, ultraviolet lights, and chemical disinfectants.
While beneficial, the studies above reveal that there is definite room for significant improvement. Each of these technologies are passive. They do not have the capability to continuously address airborne and surface contaminants 24/7/365. HEPA relies upon air exchanges and UV can only operate when a room is unoccupied. As soon as people enter the room, re-contamination occurs.

To address the shortage of surgical masks at the onset of COVID, the FDA approved the use of Hydrogen Peroxide Vapor to sanitize used surgical masks, for re-use. This recognized Hydrogen Peroxide as a legitimate tool for deactivating the COVID virus. This process uses 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, which although effective to sanitize, is also unsafe for humans to be exposed to.

Enter CIMR. CIMR® has been tested against such systems for its ability to fight against germs, viruses and bacteria. Although CIMR® is only .02 ppm Hydrogen Peroxide, CIMR® tested as, or in some cases, more effective than the higher concentrations found in vapors.

These results are significant because CIMR® can provide the results of the vapor, while at the same time, making the environment safe for human exposure. CIMR® safely disperses Hydrogen Peroxide into a room, automatically and continuously, 24/7/365, providing patients and staff with safe and healthy conditions.

Hospitals are a place for recuperation and healing. With the use of this revolutionary technology, a complete hospital can become more sanitized than today’s surgical rooms.
This is critical because we know that most germs do not attack while in the seclusion of the surgical room, it is when the patient is transported to a room to recover.
